Moulin Chateau

The Chateau du Moulin was built in the 15th century (1480) for defensive purposes. It consists of two buildings surrounded by a defensive wall and a moat. The oldest is furnished in a more primitive style. The second building is furnished with more modern (16 century) tapestries and furniture. There is an additional small tower separated from the 2 main buildings. The building was constructed mostly of brick with some foundation stone. The black and red alternating colors of the bricks is quite tasteful. This chateau was never attacked due to its remoteness from the main routes and so survived fairly well. This is fortunate since its walls were only 14" thick and would never survive cannonfire.
