Figure 8: Pencil and fan beam polarization profiles for accreting pulsars. Each set of three curves displays the flux from a hypothetical accreting pulsar, the expected polarization magnitude (Pmag), and the polarization angle (chi). In calculating these curves it was assumed that the angles between M and omega and between the line of sight and omega are 45° where omega defines the pulsar rotation axis. The curves come from Meszaros et al. (1988).
