Catalog Description | This course is intended for pre-medical, pre-dental, and other students who desire a physics course without calculus. Mechanics, special relativity, sound, heat, and thermodynamics are covered. Numerical examples and lab experiments are chosen to illustrate basic physical principles. Grades are based on in-class tests, homework, a final exam, and lab performance. Each week three lectures are given by the course professor and one 3-hour lab is conducted by a TA. |
