Binary Stars

One of the most basic things you can say about the Sun is that it is a single star. That initially sounds ridiculous, but it turns out that most (estimates are 85 %) stars in the universe are probably in ``meaningful relationships'', i.e. members of systems that have two or more stars, orbiting each other in the same way the planets orbit the Sun.
