Description:
This course will introduce students to gravity, electricity, and magnetism. We will focus on building a strong conceptual understanding of gravitational fields, electric charge, electric and magnetic fields, electric circuits, and electromagnetic oscillations, as well as developing skills and experience in problem solving. This course is a continuation of PHYS:1701, and is part of a four-semester sequence intended primarily for physics and astronomy majors, or science majors who want an in-depth introductory physics course. This course uses calculus. The three weekly lectures and one-hour discussion are given by Prof. Halekas, with the weekly lab conducted by a TA.
